Subject: Arrived at Arlington, Texas

Dear All,
I have arrived here at Arlington, Texas yesterday evening. The trip was safe and was of lots of rememberance.
I had very good time with few of the friends that I have made in the plane.
Firstly, we arrived at Bangkok Airport, "Suvarnavumi International Airport" which was superb and very much glamorous. The flight duration in Thai Airways was of 3 hours. The transit time of 4 hours passed by in no time watching the beautiful shopping malls and duty free shops.
Then we headed to Tokyo, Narita International Airport through Japan Airlines. The flight duration was bit longer than in Thai of about 6 hours but I enjoyed with the on seat video system in the Boeing 777, playing games, listening Japanese music and all that. Japanese Air Hostesses sefrved the Japanese meal with a lots of hospitality.
Tokyo, Narita International Airport ,here it comes, perhaps the beautiful city I have ever seen not only from the aerial view, but I was so fortunate that I got the "Shore Pass" at the Immigration after requesting for sightseeing Tokyo. The Japanese officers responded us well and were generous enough to provide us entrace to the World's most expensive place, Tokyo. So we have loaded our purse with the expensive Japaense Yen in the money Exchange. We catched the super fast Skyliner Train from the Airport to the next station from where we walked for about 30 mins. to view the beautiful Narita Shinjhan Temple. The only problem we faced in the Narita Airport is the language problem.
The visit to Tokyo downtown was of lifetime remembrance. Boarding the flight of Delta Airways in Narita, we headed to our dream destination United States of America. The flight to Atlanta from Narita was really hectic of 12 hours. The service above board is not as good as in JAL and Thai but anyways I like the American style. We landed at Atlanta International Airport. I had to really hasten so as to catch the connecting flight to Dallas, I had only 2 hours of transit there. Unfortunately, due to the AlQaeda plot on that day, the security was very tightened that day and hence I had to be in queue in many places. I missed the scheduled flight. I had to reconfirmed my flight 2 hours later.
After 2 hours of flight, we reached at DFW ariport,Dallas, largest airport in the planet sizewize. The DFW metroplex area which covered the widest area, as seen from air at night time is really a spectcular one. My friend Prabhat Bhattarai, classmate of KEC was there to receive me. We drove to his apartment and here I am now recuperating from jet lag.Prabhat is helping me in every possible way he can and I am very much fortunate to have a friend like him.
Really excited but feeling nervousness as well. But I have to keep patience I know. With the blessings from you people there and my hard work, I hope I will see through my challenges here. I will attend the orientation from Monday. I am really excited about that.
More than anything I am missing you people out there, home and family. But obiviously missing will be there and I have to be bold enough.
Bye for now. Soryy for a long mail.
Regards,
Sagar Kumar Regmi

Practice Tests

Today we,Umesh sir, Abhi Sir and me together gave practice test of GRE. We gave both verbal and Maths test. Although the score was quite not upto the mark, I am quite encouraged by the result. The score of verbal was 450 and that of Math was 730. Umesh Sir is the champ in math as he guided us through many difficult problems. Lastly when I write math test, the score was 690 and this time 730 , so its definitely improving. And with hard work and dedication it will further improve.

Although I have almost completed twice studying the Barrons 3500 words, I am not still confident in the verbal section. Although hard work must be there but its not all in all about the hard work. Luck sometimes plays a part in scoring high too. So I feel now a days that I have to work hard on Math portion. After all we cant take Math portin for granted as it is the scoring portion in GRE. One cant predict on verbal portion but being an engineering student we must and can do well in Math portion. So I think I cant take it for granted for math portion and I have to practice regularly.

I havenot practiced essay(Argument and Issues) portion yet. But I am writing the blog now a days. But I think we have to review the style of blog writing. Coz our current style of blog writing wont help much in scoring high in AWA portion. What we need is to write critiques and arguments style of writing. So I am thinking to study the Issue and Argument section once and follow the pattern in blog writing as well. So I am thinking of writing the critique on movie I will watch during Dashain Holidays. I am thinking of watching best 100 films of the millenium. In this way I can get entertainment of the best classics movies in one hand. Besides, I can also improve on my listening capabilites. Moreover, I can write the critique of the movie.

105 Days Remaining

Finally I managed to register GRE and TOEFL. The scheduled date of test are 10 Jan-GRE and 13 Jan- TOEFl.
It was a dramatic event how I registerd the tests. It was due to my dereliction that I have to suffer through monetary loss as well as mental torture due to my laxity. I even may suffer a serious loss in case of application procedure( I may be late for some college whose deadlines are earlier than Feb 1st, I hope not so).
It was a series of events that accumulated to impede my test registration. I joined KEC which deaccelerate my initail ebullience. I did not make my Passport in time. Later I did not timely checked on the ets.org to know the exact time of reopening of the registration.

However, I am happy now.I have finally registred the test. A think stm hits my mind...whether i hurried for the exam? Or will I get enough preparation time as I have to prepare both GRE and TOEFL side by side. However I conquer these kind of negative feeling by the positive sayings like-"nothing is impossible".Time is greatest friend if you can know it and greatest foe if you cant discern its meaning. One have to be cognizant on the value of time. So in order to do well in my both tests, from now on I have to countdown on the days from today onwards and dont have to waste my time in trivial matters. Its now 105 days 1 hour 26 min 55 secs......remaining. I cant write blog for hours . I have to study VW .. c ya

Preparation of Gre

Preparation of GRE is really a daunting task.It has been almost 8-9 months since i have first started preparing for GRE. I was admitted to NIEC then envisaging the great future abroad. However I swerved from the course after i joined KEC. I seriously started studying gre 2 months back. So considering the time when i have first started, I am in slow pace but I am so enthusaist at the same time encouraged by the progress I have made in between these 2 months.

A lot of factors are responsible for improving my GRE progress. Its the milieu of KEC, the companionship and help of my elders like Saurav and Umesh sirs and the help I get from the pros like Abhinandan sir...the blend of all is perfect. We are getting all the resources available to study and we cant ask for more. All is required is our dedication, perseverence, fortitude, endurance, sturdyness and what not. I just remembered the encouraging words of Mr. Prassana Aryal, the genious whom I take as my GRE idol. He had once told me about how he prepared his GRE and what dedication he had shown in it inorder to score 1500/1600."Put your Body to the limit"-He told me. These are the words that I will never overlook in my life.
After such a hard work we are putting in this task, I sometimes feel that what if I score low, if my score is below 1000 and thoughts like this envisages my mind. But now a days I remember the words of Saurav bro, who has been really an insipiration for me in practicing GRE. He once told me when I express my pessimistic view that dont worry about the future. When you get these kind of pessimistic feeling in your mind, get rid of it as quickly as possible. I am working on it. After all there is a wise adage in Geeta-" Karma Gara and Fal ko aasa nagara',. Meaningly, do yur deeds but dont count on your results.

My day not in server room

Today was my peculiar day as i had not went to the server room. I once went there to get the GRE BigBook for photocopying. Its been around 6-7 months i have been working in server room and its the first time i spent so much little time there.I hardly spent 5 minutes there today. The reason was that I went directly upstairs to umesh sir's room to study GRE with saurav and umesh sirs.

Today We started R-Z portion of Vocabulary wizard which is of course the last section. Ehaaa.............. then we will finish the Barrons portion. Its my second time that i am studying R-Z from VW and I am so much disconcerted to find that I have forget many words. Really my retentive memory is not so good and I should have to improve on it. Besides, i get the moral that one has to revise time and again to have good retention.

At tiffin time we went to Alina's today and I offered a small treat to all my cohorts. They enjoyed it greatly. On returning to college we found that saurav bro's small word diary was left in Alina's mistakenly by me. I felt penitent for my absentminded act. Later we went there to serch. Thank god it was there safley kept by the waiter in the counter. "Your body is now safe"-said saurav bro. Whether he said banteringly or seriously i cant say, but i can see the sense of resusication in his face. After all he had nearly lost his months of hard work in that small diary.

After returning from college we went to New Road Cosmopolition to enjoy the good friday. My friends enjoyed the chilled beer and the snaks. But for a teetotaler like me its really embarassing to see other people enjoying taking the seep of beer and me taking the seep of milk shake.

After there, Bivu sir urged us to go to Thamel for futher enjoyment. We went to Himalayalette cafe. Restaurant with live music is its speciality. I liked the place very much. I enjoyed the live music along with couple of cups of hot and chilled coffee. I esp enjoyed the Pink Floyd number called time. Really the guitarist played awesome music. It was mind blowing.

It was already 10 pm and so late to go home. So we left for there with memories of the live music.Hope i will come on another friday next time to enjoy that.
Now I am here writing the blog. Its already 1:03 p.m and I have to sleep now.

Lord of the Ring-FOTR

Today I completed the movie LOTR-fellowship of the ring. I was watching in a sporadic way. That is because it is a lengthy film and I couldnot watch it in one sitting in the server room.Besides, I got to do other works as well. On the other hand, watching the movie intermittently, I can get some time to annonate the movie.

It is a nice film to was by every movie lover. Its a kind of fairy tale based on a novel.Truely speaking it is a Mahabharat in itself as said by Abhi sir, in the sense that it has got its own world,"The Middle Earth",own map of it, own language etc.More than its story, I was enthralled by the chimerical and picturesque sceneries casted on the movie. I have read that most portion of the movie was shot in Newzeland. Mind blowing was the chimerical fantasy world of the Middle Earth. The blend of the set, the characters, the environ was august.

I am currently on the starting point of the second sequel "LOTR-The two towers.". From so far I have understood, the two towers mean one of the Saruon and another of Saruman. Both are in search of the evil ring. Althoug Saruman the white is the master of Gandalf the grey he is summoned by the evil power of the ring and now he is creating his own army of aurks by his wizardry power to find the ring and fight against his foe.

Until now the felloship has been broken and the Frodo and Sam are on their way to Mordor. They are lead by the Golham, an interesting creature who was also one of the bearer of the ring long time back. His real intention is to grasp the ring from Frodo as he is longing for it for the long time. He was following them since the outset of their adventure.
Anyways, I am very much enthralled by the movie's sequence. I hope to finish the whole sequels within few days.

Welcome to my world of thought

Finally, I have decided to open my own blog site. The sole purpose of creating my blog is to improve my English writing. As I am preparing GRE now a days, I think it will help me a lot in AWA section if I express my feelings and thoughts in this blog on a regular basis. Thats why the title of the blog is "MY THOUGHT".

Anyone viewing my blog is requested to comment on my thoughts. I will heartly welcome such comments.
Thanks
Sagar
