Subject: Arrived at Arlington, Texas
Dear All,
I have arrived here at Arlington, Texas yesterday evening. The trip was safe and was of lots of rememberance.
I had very good time with few of the friends that I have made in the plane.
Firstly, we arrived at Bangkok Airport, "Suvarnavumi International Airport" which was superb and very much glamorous. The flight duration in Thai Airways was of 3 hours. The transit time of 4 hours passed by in no time watching the beautiful shopping malls and duty free shops.
Then we headed to Tokyo, Narita International Airport through Japan Airlines. The flight duration was bit longer than in Thai of about 6 hours but I enjoyed with the on seat video system in the Boeing 777, playing games, listening Japanese music and all that. Japanese Air Hostesses sefrved the Japanese meal with a lots of hospitality.
Tokyo, Narita International Airport ,here it comes, perhaps the beautiful city I have ever seen not only from the aerial view, but I was so fortunate that I got the "Shore Pass" at the Immigration after requesting for sightseeing Tokyo. The Japanese officers responded us well and were generous enough to provide us entrace to the World's most expensive place, Tokyo. So we have loaded our purse with the expensive Japaense Yen in the money Exchange. We catched the super fast Skyliner Train from the Airport to the next station from where we walked for about 30 mins. to view the beautiful Narita Shinjhan Temple. The only problem we faced in the Narita Airport is the language problem.
The visit to Tokyo downtown was of lifetime remembrance. Boarding the flight of Delta Airways in Narita, we headed to our dream destination United States of America. The flight to Atlanta from Narita was really hectic of 12 hours. The service above board is not as good as in JAL and Thai but anyways I like the American style. We landed at Atlanta International Airport. I had to really hasten so as to catch the connecting flight to Dallas, I had only 2 hours of transit there. Unfortunately, due to the AlQaeda plot on that day, the security was very tightened that day and hence I had to be in queue in many places. I missed the scheduled flight. I had to reconfirmed my flight 2 hours later.
After 2 hours of flight, we reached at DFW ariport,Dallas, largest airport in the planet sizewize. The DFW metroplex area which covered the widest area, as seen from air at night time is really a spectcular one. My friend Prabhat Bhattarai, classmate of KEC was there to receive me. We drove to his apartment and here I am now recuperating from jet lag.Prabhat is helping me in every possible way he can and I am very much fortunate to have a friend like him.
Really excited but feeling nervousness as well. But I have to keep patience I know. With the blessings from you people there and my hard work, I hope I will see through my challenges here. I will attend the orientation from Monday. I am really excited about that.
More than anything I am missing you people out there, home and family. But obiviously missing will be there and I have to be bold enough.
Bye for now. Soryy for a long mail.
Regards,
Sagar Kumar Regmi
